English Names

English names in the Golden Age of Piracy consist of a first name and a surname. Middle names didn’t exist yet. Girls did not get male names! If you’re naming a female character, stick with the female lists. Surnames as first names were rare and exclusively male. Parents who bestowed them on their sons were either upper-class or pretentious – kind of like they are today.
